We live and work in a highly regulated society; everything from medical practice to horse racing to teaching is subject to supervision.  At the same time the law gives extensive rights to individuals and businesses to scrutinise, question and challenge the work of public bodies such as regulators. 

Our Public and Regulatory Law Group- the largest of its kind in the UK - specialises in supporting the work of public regulatory bodies, helping them to exercise their powers fairly and effectively, defending against challenges, conducting criminal or disciplinary prosecutions and contributing the legal perspective to their policy development work.  Our clients in this area are extraordinarily diverse, ranging from the Rugby Football Union to the Nursing and Midwifery Council, by way of the Law Society of England and Wales and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
