Tim Davies

Tim Davies is the head of FFW’s Corporate Department and the head of FFW’s cross-departmental Public Sector Practice. He qualified in 1979 and became a partner in 1985.

Tim has advised public sector bodies and central Government departments and agencies on commercial projects, restructurings and the transformation of public bodies and agencies for more than 20 years.  His public sector clients include HM Treasury, the Home Office, the Learning and Skills Council, the Cabinet Office, the Department for Education and Skills, the Department for International Development, OFSTED, the London Development Agency and Sport England.  He is experienced in dealing with matters involving significant public and political sensitivities. 

Tim’s recent experience includes advising the Home Office on the transition of the Forensic Science Service to Government-owned company status.  He advised the Department for International Development on the major restructuring and break up of CDC Group.  In addition, Tim drew up, on behalf of the Department for Education and Skills, the contract for the provision of advice and support in relation to the National Education Strategies.
