Paul Barton

Paul is a partner in our Technology Group.  He has over 13 years experience advising both suppliers and users of IT systems and related technology.

Paul is recognised as a leading IT and technology lawyer in The Legal 500, Chambers, Legal Experts and Legal Media Group’s Guide to the World’s leading Technology, Media and Telecommunications lawyers. He is a regular speaker at ICT conferences.  Paul also lectures for the Bristol University Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice.

Paul specialises in advising technology users and service providers in all areas of information technology and internet law, including advising on the procurement, licensing, and outsourcing of computer systems and the development of websites and portals.

Paul has extensive experience of leading FFW teams for a number public sector clients such as the NHS University, UKPS (now part of Identity and Passport Service) and Ordnance Survey. He has advised on complex IT projects for public sector organisations including DTI, The Home Office, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, the General Teaching Council and the Learning and Skills Council.
