Michael Chissick

Michael qualified as a solicitor in 1989.  He has been head of FFW’s Technology Law Group for eight years. 

Michael is acknowledged as a leading expert in Technology in The Legal 500, Chambers and a number of other directories and guides.

Michael is the co-author of E-Government: A Practical Guide to the Legal Issues (Sweet & Maxwell, January 2004), the first ever e-government book and E-Commerce, a Practical Guide to the Law, now in its third edition.   He has also written three other leading text books. 

The main areas of Michael's practice include outsourcing projects, IT procurement and licensing, data protection, digital mixed media, electronic commerce and m-commerce contracts.  Michael has a strong public sector client base.  His clients include central Government departments and agencies, several local authorities, London Underground, Transport for London, Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Home Office, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and various housing associations.  He has extensive experience of project managing and leading negotiations on dozens of large scale service agreements, leading and advising on Government projects and finally technology and large services procurements and drafting relevant documentation.
