Martin Smith is a partner in the Public and Regulatory Law Group.  Martin joined FFW in November 2004 from Clifford Chance where he was part of their Public Law team and worked on a number of high-profile matters including judicial review of regulatory decisions for telecoms and electricity generator clients.

Martin is described in Chambers & Partners as “excellent” for administrative & public law.

He advises both public and private sector organisations on a range of public law matters, including statutory interpretation and Human Rights.

He is well-used to working with public officials on sensitive matters, having spent the last 18 months before he joined FFW working full time as solicitor to two independent public inquiries - the Hutton Inquiry and the Morris Inquiry.  He is currently appointed as Interim Legal Adviser to the General Social Care Council and has also recently advised the ODPM, the Home Office and the UK Passport Service.
