Jayne Elkins

Jayne's private sector work has included advice to a number of institutional investors including Shell Pensions Trust Limited (for whom Jayne has acted for over 15 years), the Lattice Group Pension Scheme and the Guardian Royal Exchange Assurance Group.  Her advice has covered all aspects of commercial property work including acquisitions and disposals of office, industrial and retail premises; sales and leasebacks; site assembly and redevelopments; and all aspects of landlord and tenant relationships (including the grant of leases, advice on rent reviews including disputed rent reviews, lease surrenders and licences of all kinds).

Jayne has also acted for the London Small Business Property Trust and the Nationwide Small Business Property Trust.  These were unauthorised property unit trusts established by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accounting and funded by local authority pension funds.  Jayne's work concerned the acquisition, management and disposal of some 50 industrial estates throughout the country.  Jayne has also acted for the Department for Education and Skills (and its predecessors) on estate management matters including grants of leases. 

In addition to Jayne's expertise in general commercial property matters she also has a particular expertise in rights to light and party wall issues.
