John McLaughlin

John joined FFW in 1998 and is a Senior Solicitor in FFW’s Corporate Department. 

John advises a variety of public and private sector clients on matters ranging from day-to day operations to share sales, business sales, joint ventures, share offers and the drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements.

John has provided long-standing advice to the Learning and Skills Council, the largest non-departmental public body in the UK which has included the negotiation of a variety of commercial agreements including those relating to grant funding and the provision of supplier services.  John is regularly seconded to LSC’s in-house legal team based in Coventry.

Other public sector clients that John has advised include Transport for London (where he has been advising on the renegotiation of a PFI contract), the Department for Education and Skills (where he has advised on a high profile joint venture for the establishment of a new vocational college) and Ofsted (where he was part of one of the negotiating teams advising on the contracts for the outsourcing of inspection services in England).
