Commission for Equality and Human Rights: FFW instructed19 June 2006 Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP (FFW) has won a competitive tender to provide legal advice to the Government team responsible for establishing the Commission for Equality and Human Rights. The new Commission will in due course take on the functions of the existing equality commissions: the Disability Rights Commission, Equal Opportunities Commission and Commission for Racial Equality. It will be responsible for carrying forward the broad agenda of equality, diversity and human rights set out in the Equality Act 2006. The project will involve lawyers from across FFW’s Employment, Corporate and Real Estate groups, under the umbrella of its Public Sector Group. This is yet another high profile public sector win for the firm and follows instructions from the Department for Work and Pensions and the Highways Agency as well as the completion of projects for both the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Home Office. FFW partner David Gollancz led the bid and will co-ordinate and manage the project. The other lead partners will be: Richard Kenyon (Employment); Ramatu Banga (Real Estate) and David Wilkinson and Neil Palmer (Corporate). Corporate and Finance head Tim Davies will be quality assurance partner; specialist support will also come from FFW’s Competition, IT and information lawyers. Lead partner David Gollancz said: “We could not be more delighted. We feel that being entrusted with this challenging and stimulating project is a recognition both of FFW’s track record and continuing commitment to public sector clients, and of our ability to deliver complex multi-faceted transactions on a tight timetable.” For further press information, please contact: Louise Eckersley, PR Executive, Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP on +44 (0)20 7861 4120 |
